The CXOSummit

"Get The Best Of All Worlds"
Open source software. Proprietary tools. Or a combination of both?

Date:    1st February, 2007
Venue: Hotel Taj Mahal, ManSingh Road, New Delhi, India
Time:   9:30 am to 6:00 pm

Open source software (OSS) is increasingly becoming popular with Indian IT managers. Few even boast of a pure open source environment.

Yet there are many who have not experienced the benefits of OSS. A lot of them wish to test the waters, but are not sure how to begin that journey.

"Given my existing IT environment--how should I initiate the adoption of OSS? What should be my first step? What would be a good 'pilot' strategy? What are the pitfalls to avoid? How do I evaluate the TCO of an OSS solution verses a proprietary one?

Plus, if I add another platform--won't that make things more messy? How do I ensure that my existing investments wont go waste? How will I handle the interoperability issues?"

We have often faced such questions from CIOs, CTOs, and even tech-savvy CEOs. The interest is there, but the direction is not clear.

The CXOSummit will address these issues. The summit brings together customers from different segments--Enterprise, SME, Government, ITes and IT industry, all of whom have faced similar challenges, and have emerged successful.

Plus, technology and domain experts like Brian behlendorf (co-founder, Apache) and Klaus Knopper (founder, Knoppix) will share the overall roadmap of open source technologies, and discuss issues like licensing, open standards, recruitment and training, etc.

Be there to find out how to enjoy the best of all worlds.
